New Haven, CT-
As a foreigner I have a great appreciation for Connecticut. I am in awe when traveling to new towns and enjoy learning about the State's history and visiting historical houses. I grew up in Kent, England and studied American Studies at The University of Manchester, spending one semester at Arizona State University as part of my degree. I later returned to Arizona to do a museum internship, researching and documenting historical objects. In 2008 I moved to New Haven and until the end of 2011 worked for a missing heir company, combining genealogical and investigative research to connect heirs to their rightful inheritances. This job took me all around the State and taught me how to use a wide variety of record types to overcome brick walls. Client and personal projects have introduced me to the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, exposing me to new record types and allowing me to develop my skills and expand my knowledge. I have been a self-employed professional genealogist since the beginning of 2012 and work on missing heir and family history projects. Learning about where I live has provided me with a sense of place and Connecticut has become a place to call home.
